Archive for Mommy's Blog

any day now…

This is my first blog as a soon to be Mommy! I am due with my first baby boy in less than 2 weeks. Although, today would be a great day for the little man (or should I say BIG man as he is measuring almost 10 lbs!) to join us. I have been popping evening primrose oil like it’s candy and chugging red raspberry leaf tea like it is the wine I have missed so dearly for the past 9 months. I had been talking to the baby, gently and sweetly trying to coax him out. That has turned into mild taunting…”Well, why don’t you come out then and you’ll have much more room!” as he kicks me. I guess the concept of not listening to Mom begins as early as the womb. Wish me luck!

MOMMY Entry #8: Memories

Once you sell a house you realize just how much clutter and junk you have. I spent most of today trying to clean and organize. I’m not to the packing phase yet but figure I might as well organize before I pack. The last thing I need to do is take a bunch of tupperware lids that don’t have any bottoms. I’m going to go into this new house with my life in order! Read the rest of this entry »

MOMMY #7: Thinking

I’ve been thinking I need to post to this for the last week. Between the cold, sinus infection, job, kids and selling my house (yeah!), I just haven’t gotten around to it. In fact, I’ve been so over- scheduled (and over- drugged) that I’ve been forgetting things like my son’s speech therapist appt. and Aikido. What up with that? So, the thoughtful ponderings on life, family and kids will have to wait. I’m thinking….

MOMMY #6: Boys

“If you have a girl first, you know, they’re like angels and very crystal clear eyes… And then, you know, you have your boy, and you’ll look down at him and you’ll think, is he retarded?” - Tea Leoni

I read this quote at the gym the other day and nearly fell off the treadmill, I was laughing so hard. Yes, I think this is amusing. Read the rest of this entry »

MOMMY Entry #5: A sleeping kid

His breathing slows and becomes rythmic. The tiny fold in his eye lid becomes smooth. This is how I can tell he’s reached an unconcious state as I fake sleep next to him. Yes! I can get up and get some stuff done. My 3-yr old is my “good” sleeper. Read the rest of this entry »

MOMMY Entry #4: Hate for smoothies

My six-year old suddenly hates everything. What up with that? I thought we didn’t become cynical, negative human beings until we were teenagers. I thought I had at least six more years of loving life. Not so much. Read the rest of this entry »

MOMMY Entry #3: Competition

So, I spent the better part of Wednesday researching blogs. When I decided to add a blog component to our site it was strictly for business purposes. We need to draw traffic to our site. And, if you sit through the Wordpress tutorial (which I did because my wonderful Web developer is starting to cost a pretty penny and my Web-mentor girlfriend is too exhausted from being the crazy working/crafting/wife/mother-goddess that she is to get back to me about RSS or RRS or whatever, Blogrolling and Permalinks) blogs are a great way to increase traffic to one’s site. MOMMY Entry #2: Learning Curves

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it is 2006. We just got back from holiday travels and I’m realizing that this blog idea was a hard one to live up to! My New Year’s resolution - post to the blog! I’ve got to get some “guest” posters in here asap to cover my behind! But, on to more important things…. I had my first “I paid for it so you’re doing it and you’re going to have fun even if I have to force you!” -experience with my 6 yr-old on the slopes last week. Read the rest of this entry »
